St. Lucia
Dramatic peaks and intimate refinement
About St. Lucia
St. Lucia is one of the most visually striking islands in the Caribbean. The twin Piton peaks rising from the sea, the lush volcanic landscape, and the intimate scale of the island create an atmosphere that feels both dramatic and deeply personal.
We plan St. Lucia itineraries that take full advantage of the island's natural beauty while ensuring your comfort at every turn. Whether you are celebrating a honeymoon, an anniversary, or simply a well-deserved escape, St. Lucia delivers an experience that stays with you long after you return home.
What sets St. Lucia apart from other Caribbean islands is the sheer variety of experiences packed into a relatively small space. In a single day, you can soak in volcanic mud baths, hike through a tropical rainforest, snorkel along a pristine reef, and watch the sun set behind the Pitons from an infinity pool. The island's geography creates a constantly shifting landscape that keeps even seasoned travelers engaged.
The food and drink culture on the island has matured considerably in recent years. Beyond resort dining, you will find excellent local restaurants serving Creole-influenced cuisine, rum distilleries offering guided tastings, and chocolate makers crafting bars from locally grown cacao. We build these authentic culinary moments into every St. Lucia itinerary because they reveal a side of the island that resort dining alone cannot capture.
Best Time to Visit
January through April offers the driest weather and most comfortable temperatures. The shoulder season of May and early June provides excellent value with generally pleasant conditions.

Where to explore
Each area of St. Lucia has its own character. Here is what to expect and who each region suits best.
Soufriere
The southwestern coast is where you will find the Pitons, the Sulphur Springs, and many of St. Lucia's most iconic resorts. This is the most visually dramatic part of the island, with steep volcanic terrain, lush rainforest, and intimate properties built into the hillside. It is ideal for couples seeking romance and natural beauty.
Marigot Bay
Often called one of the most beautiful bays in the Caribbean, Marigot Bay offers a sheltered harbor surrounded by palm-covered hills. It is quieter than Soufriere and appeals to travelers who want a serene, yacht-club atmosphere with easy access to both the north and south of the island.
Rodney Bay and Gros Islet
The northern end of the island is more lively, with a wider selection of restaurants, bars, and shopping. Rodney Bay Marina is a hub for catamaran excursions and water sports, and the Friday night street party in Gros Islet is one of the Caribbean's most authentic local experiences.
Castries
The capital city is the main port for cruise ships and a gateway to the island's interior. The central market is worth a visit for local spices, hot sauces, and handmade crafts. While most travelers base themselves elsewhere, Castries provides a window into everyday St. Lucian life.

Experiences we curate
Romantic Retreats
St. Lucia is consistently ranked among the world's top honeymoon destinations, and for good reason. Properties like Jade Mountain, Ladera, and Sugar Beach offer the kind of privacy, scenery, and service that make a romantic getaway truly extraordinary. We curate stays at properties known for their open-air suites, private plunge pools, and unobstructed Piton views. Whether it is a candlelit dinner on a secluded beach or a couples massage with the sound of the rainforest as your soundtrack, we design moments that feel deeply personal.
Wellness and Spa
From volcanic mud baths at the world's only drive-in volcano to oceanfront spa treatments that use locally sourced botanicals, St. Lucia offers a wellness experience rooted in the natural elements of the island. Several resorts have developed comprehensive wellness programs that include yoga, meditation, hydrotherapy, and nutrition-focused dining. We can build a trip centered entirely around renewal, or weave wellness elements into a broader itinerary.
Nature and Exploration
Hike the Tet Paul Nature Trail for panoramic Piton views, explore the Diamond Botanical Gardens and its stunning waterfall, or take a guided rainforest walk through the Edmund Forest Reserve. The Piton Mountains are a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the trails that wind through them offer some of the most rewarding hiking in the Caribbean. We arrange private guides who know the terrain intimately and can tailor the difficulty and pace to your fitness level.
Culinary Discovery
St. Lucian cuisine blends Caribbean, French, and Creole influences into something distinctly its own. We arrange private dining experiences at oceanfront restaurants, cooking classes where you learn to prepare traditional dishes like green fig and saltfish, and visits to cacao farms where chocolate is made from bean to bar. The Friday night street party in Gros Islet is a local institution worth experiencing, with grilled seafood, cold Piton beer, and live music spilling into the streets.
Practical notes
St. Lucia has two airports. Hewanorra International (UVF) in the south serves most international flights.
Many resorts offer helicopter or boat transfers from the airport, which we arrange as part of your itinerary.
The island drives on the left side of the road. Private transfers are recommended over self-driving.
St. Lucian dollars are the local currency, but US dollars are widely accepted.
We recommend at least five nights to experience the island's diversity without feeling rushed.
What our clients say
"I usually dread travel planning, but with All Around Trips I did not lift a finger. They found the most incredible resort and even scored us a suite upgrade with a plunge pool."
"St. Lucia for our anniversary was perfection. The resort recommendation, the suite category, the dining reservations, the sunset sail. Every choice they made for us was the right one. We came home rested and reconnected."

About St. Lucia
December through April offers the driest weather and the most consistent sunshine. May and early June are excellent for value, with fewer crowds and warm seas.
Both have merit. The Soufriere area near the Pitons offers dramatic scenery and the most romantic resorts. The northern coast around Rodney Bay provides easier airport access, calmer beaches, and more dining variety.
Yes. St. Lucia is one of the most popular honeymoon destinations in the Caribbean. The combination of mountain views, adults-only properties, and private experiences makes it consistently strong for couples.
