Region

    The Mediterranean

Italy, Greece, France, Spain, and the coastlines that connect them. Planned with the depth the region deserves.

A region that rewards a slower pace

The Mediterranean is best experienced as a way of traveling, not a checklist of cities. We plan trips that combine the right countries, the right seasons, and the right balance of land and sea so that the rhythm of the trip matches the rhythm of the region.

    What we handle

Multi-country itineraries pacing Italy, Greece, and France together properly

Coastal vs. inland balance, beaches, vineyards, and historic city stays

Private boat days, transfers, and ferry coordination across islands

Norwegian and Princess Mediterranean cruise integration when it adds value

Shoulder-season planning for better weather, lower crowds, and stronger value

    Honeymoon-grade properties throughout the region

    What Defines a Mediterranean Trip

The Mediterranean is not a single destination. It is a way of traveling. Long lunches on a terrace, a swim before dinner, a bottle of local wine that did not exist before you sat down. The region rewards travelers who arrive without a tightly packed schedule and let the rhythm of the day guide the trip.

We plan Mediterranean itineraries that lean into that pace. The right hotels in the right villages, transfers that feel scenic rather than functional, and a few well-chosen reservations layered into otherwise unscheduled days.

    How We Pair the Countries

Italy and Greece pair beautifully on a longer trip. Spend the first week in southern Italy or the Amalfi Coast, then island-hop the Greek Cyclades for the second. Italy and France work well together, especially when paired with a Provence drive or a Côte d'Azur stay. Spain stands alone for one type of traveler and combines naturally with southern France for another.

Cruising is the third option, and an excellent one when the goal is breadth. A 10-day Mediterranean cruise on Norwegian or Princess covers ports that would otherwise require multiple flights and ferry crossings to string together.

    When to Travel the Mediterranean

Late April through June and September through mid-October are the best windows. Weather is reliable, daylight is long, and the most popular destinations have not yet hit their peak crowds. July and August are the busiest and hottest months and are ideal for travelers who specifically want the energy of high season.

Shoulder seasons also bring meaningful value. The same hotel that lists at peak rates in August can be twenty to thirty percent less in late September with better weather for sightseeing.

    Cruise vs. Land vs. Combination

Land-based itineraries give you depth, fewer destinations, more time in each, deeper local connection. Cruises give you breadth, more ports, less unpacking, dramatically simpler logistics. A combination week of cruising followed by a land stay (or the reverse) is increasingly the format we recommend for first-time Mediterranean travelers who want to see a lot without burning out.

    Mediterranean questions

For a 10-day trip, two countries is the sweet spot. For two weeks, three countries is comfortable. Beyond that, the transitions begin to dominate the trip. We help you choose the combination that delivers depth without exhausting the schedule.

Neither is universally better. Cruises win on logistics and breadth. Land trips win on depth and authenticity. We often recommend combining both: a cruise segment for the ports that benefit from a brief stop, paired with a land stay for the region you want to experience properly.

Late May, June, September, and early October are the strongest months. Weather is reliable, water is warm enough to swim, and crowds are manageable. July and August are peak; weather is hot but the energy is at its highest.

Nine to twelve months for peak-season travel and the best villas. Six months is workable for shoulder seasons and most boutique hotels. Cruise inventory follows a similar timeline, with the best cabins selling out earliest.

The Greek Islands (Santorini, Mykonos, Milos), the Amalfi Coast, and the south of France lead the list. Each delivers a different mood, Greek romance, Italian indulgence, French refinement. We help match the destination to the kind of honeymoon you want.
