November through April offers the driest and most pleasant weather across most regions. Whale watching season in Baja runs from January through March. The Yucatan is warm year-round.

Riviera Maya and Yucatan
The Caribbean coast from Cancun to Tulum offers turquoise water, ancient Mayan ruins, and cenotes (natural sinkholes) that are unique to this region. Tulum's clifftop ruins overlooking the sea are one of Mexico's most photographed sites. Inland, Chichen Itza and the colonial city of Merida add cultural depth. Mexico City
One of the world's great metropolises, Mexico City offers extraordinary museums, a culinary scene that rivals any global capital, and neighborhoods with distinct personalities. The historic center, Roma, Condesa, Coyoacan, and Xochimilco each deserve dedicated exploration. The city is also the gateway to Teotihuacan's pyramids, just an hour to the northeast.
Oaxaca
The cultural and culinary heart of southern Mexico, Oaxaca offers mezcal distilleries, indigenous textile workshops, the ancient Zapotec site of Monte Alban, and a food scene that has earned international recognition. The central valley is surrounded by indigenous communities where traditional crafts and customs are actively maintained. Los Cabos and Baja

No visa is required for US citizens. A tourist permit (FMM) is issued upon arrival.

Mexico uses the Mexican peso. US dollars are accepted at many resorts and tourist areas, but pesos are preferred elsewhere.
